Mass Effect is a video game series created by BioWare, a Canadian entertainment company. The series debuted on November 20, 2007, with the introduction of its first game, Mass Effect, for the Xbox 360. The franchise has since expanded to include two novels, a comic book mini-series, a spin-off game for the iPhone, and a re-release of the original game for the Microsoft Windows platform. A sequel, Mass Effect 2, was released for the Xbox 360 and Windows on January 26, 2010.
