DIA (Template:Lang-ko;) is a South Korean girl group that debuted in 2015 under MBK Entertainment. Their name is short for "Diamond", and is also an acronym for "Do It Amazing". The group consists of Seunghee, Eunice, Cathy, Jenny, Yebin, Eunjin and Chaeyeon. They officially debuted on September 14, 2015 with their album "Do It Amazing".

Music career

Pre-debut

In February of 2015, MBK Entertainment announced it's plans to debut a new girl group. Originally, the company had decided to have possible candidates for their new group compete on a reality survival program, through which the public could become familiar with the group members. Trainees and actresses Kim Dani, Kim Minhyun, Moon Seulgi and Cho Seunghee were announced to be partcipating in this project, but Dani, Minhyun and Seulgi left the project.[1] Seunghee was previously a member of F-ve Dolls, before their disbandment in 2014.[2] However, by June plans for the show had been scrapped and the group, officially named DIA, was set to debut later that year with double title track.[3][4]

2015-present: Debut with Do It Amazing

On September 14, 2015, DIA released their selft-titled debut album, "Do It Amazing". On the same day, the music video for their lead single, 'Somehow', was released.[5] Their first official public appearance was also on September 14; the group performed a showcase at the 'Ilchi Art Hall' in Seoul.[6]They made their official debut stage on the music program M! Countdown on September 17, 2015.
