Hello! I'm NinjaRobotPirate, and I'm an administrator and checkuser on English Wikipedia. Basically, that means that I have some additional rights that let me more easily handle vandalism and sock puppetry. Let me know on my talk page if I can help you.
Philosophy
[edit]When it comes to Wikipedia, I'm a pragmatic minimalist. Depending on my mood, I alternate between rewriting articles from scratch, taking part in tedious policy discussions, and simple typo fixes. It took a while before I realized that complaining about Wikipedia does no good unless you get involved and try to fix it yourself. Out of all the articles I've worked on, Cult film remains the article of which I am most proud. I mainly contribute to biographies and film-related articles, but you can find me editing almost anything, from postmodernism to 1980s death metal.
I believe the best way to avoid bias is to edit articles about which one is apathetic (thus, 1980s death metal). To avoid edit wars, I try to adhere to a voluntary policy of one revert. Remember, Wikipedia is about consensus and making an encyclopedia; it's not about winning. Occasionally we all lose sight of that, but there are more important things in life than debates on Wikipedia. We're all here to make a better encyclopedia, and there is room for everyone.
