A tag has been placed on New Userboxes requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. RfD of Assassin's Creed III

[edit]

Hello, you recently participated in an AfD for Assassin's Creed III which closed as "speedy redirect". I have created a redirect discussion to gain consensus on whether a redirect is suitable at the time, or whether it would be better to remain as a red link until more concrete information is available. Please feel free to contribute here: Wikipedia:RfD#Assassin.27s_Creed_III. Hope this helps, --Taelus (talk) 14:30, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Hoodywood Records

[edit]

Hello Pookeo9, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Hoodywood Records - a page you tagged - because: Not nonsense - there is meaningful content. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. JohnCD (talk) 21:21, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • WP:CSD#G1 is very narrowly drawn: it is only for pages "consisting entirely of incoherent text or gibberish with no meaningful content or history" - stuff like "4bnf*6%8@##3h5m" or "Yaaaaaaayyyyy!!!!" Stuff where there is a recognisable meaning but it doesn't seem sensible can sometimes by caught under WP:CSD#G3 blatant misinformation or hoax; but even that won't do for this article because one actually has to do some checking to be sure it isn't true. There is good advice on speedy tagging from an experienced admin at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:27, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that, I will try and not make the same mistake again.--Pookeo9 Talk If you need anything 21:34, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Same goes for Functional temporalism, which I have declined to speedy. As it has been WP:PRODed in the past, the only avenue left if you want it deleted is articles for deletion. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:14, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Robert Pavlovic. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:11, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you are in a position where your computer might be shared by multiple people, then you need to make sure that you log out, when needed, or you lock the interface of the computer. Warning regarding logging out and vandalising

[edit]

I find it curious that an anonymous user from your IP address, who appears to be using your computer, would decide to start vandalising high-profile user pages. The user pages that this user chose to blank suggest knowledge of Wikipedia, so please don't try to fob it on someone else, especially since they appeared to be using your computer. You also felt the need to warn this person for vandalism, so you obviously knew about it.

Either way, know this: If an anonymous user continues to vandalise pages from your IP, I'll {{checkuserblock}} it to stop it. This means two things. Firstly, you won't be able to edit, not even while logged in. Secondly, no other administrator would be allowed to undo the block, so you'd stay blocked for whatever duration I feel is appropriate. So, regardless of whether or not it was you, it'd be in your best interests to make sure it doesn't happen again. --Deskana (talk) 23:43, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. --Deskana (talk) 00:21, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Ngc7822b.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ngc7822b.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:04, 8 December 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 06:04, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Pookeo9! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 249 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Robert Pavlovic - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hello WikiProject Space member! A discussion has been started regarding the future of WikiProject Space here; any comments you might have would be welcome! There are mainly two competing ideas:

  1. Centralize all the Space-related WikiProjects, such as Astronomy and Spaceflight, and merge them into WikiProject Space, or
  2. Separate the Astronomy and Spaceflight "sides" of WikiProject, and remove WikiProject Space.

If you can think of other options, that's great too. Your contribution to the discussion would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article 2009 Peshawar judicial complex bombing has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No lasting coverage or impact to meet WP:EVENT.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
