Is this person notable? Google News yields no hits, and a lot of the references here are completely inappropriate, e.g. his employer's own website, LinkedIn profile, and Google Scholar profile. Uhooep (talk) 16:38, 24 July 2024 (UTC)

- Delete. His Google Scholar profile is as close to empty as they come [1]. I found nothing about his works in Google Scholar, Google News, and JSTOR. No evidence of notability as a scholar, activist, or filmmaker. —David Eppstein (talk) 18:27, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Hello. Thank you for your comment, Uhooep. Based on Wikipedia:Notability (people), academics are considered notable. In News: he is a professor of mass communication and media, as verified by a reference from QA Newspaper[1] based in London. Additionally, he is currently a scholar and professor holds a PhD in film and media, as evidenced by sources such: a public UK University website[2] and ALJAZeeraTV Forum[3]. According to Raseef22[4], a liberal media website based in Lebanon, he is a writer specializing in the field of secularism and minorities. His articles on Raseef22 address topics in the freedom of journalism and academia. Academic, scholar and notable - Keep. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mazen1980 (talk • contribs) 21:10, 27 July 2024 (UTC) — Mazen1980 (talk • contribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
- It is flat-out false that all academics are considered notable. We have specific criteria in WP:PROF according to which some academics are notable but most are not. None of the things you list meet those criteria. —David Eppstein (talk) 21:14, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

- Delete Does not appear notable by the standard for academics or that for filmmakers. XOR'easter (talk) 21:52, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
- Keep -- the article may require some improvement /missing personal information/ but it meets Wiki's standards -- Google identifies the individual as a public figure - https://g.co/kgs/rmPh8Ed. and It yields results in one more language as well -- he is notable - Keep. - No, those are not our standards. And no, the name of this website is not "Wiki". XOR'easter (talk) 18:56, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
- Delete. Looks far WP:TOOSOON for WP:NPROF notability for this 2022 PhD. WP:NCREATIVE for the films is somewhat plausible, but this would require reviews of the work in reliable sources, which are not apparent. Watchlisting in case reviews are found. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 23:07, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- Delete: I don't see that he meets the notability criteria for academics or filmmakers.--فيصل (talk) 02:21, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
