I have always believed that Jesus meant by the Kingdom of God the small group scattered all through time of intellectually and ethically valuable people.

Righteousness is the religion of the Kingdom of Heaven & even the property of God himself towards man. Righteousness & Love are inseparable for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

~ Richard Feynman ~

'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free,
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.

When true simplicity is gain'd
To bow and to bend we shan't be asham'd,
To turn, turn will be our delight
'Till by turning, turning we come round right.

START:

WORK on MUCH needed MAJOR overhauls of introductory pages and policy pages within the next few months. (2015·01·08)
EXPAND Dimensions quotes…
"image Credits" section and/or page or pages, as suggested by an editor on my talk page.
Create "Creation/Creativity" as distinct page apart from Invention and Creationism
Non-violence as a distinct page.
Do page for I've Heard the Mermaids Singing — I do intend to start a page this, but there is only one quote on line I can find, which is used, and I did not have time to do transcriptions today, as I had hoped. Will probably do some within a few days ~ Kalki·· 02:00, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

+ significantly worked upon:

  1. About Time (2013 film) · I think I've learned the final lesson from my travels in time; and I've even gone one step further than my father did: The truth is I now don't travel back at all, not even for the day, I just try to live every day as if I've deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it was the full final day of my extraordinary, ordinary life.
  2. Adnan Oktar · The proponents of violence are killing Muslims and they are killing Christians, they are killing Jews as well; they are enemies to everyone.
  3. Aladdin (1992 Disney film) · Genie, you're free.
  4. Alcaeus of Mytilene ·
  5. Alec Baldwin · I want to be a ferocious liberal.
  6. Apocrypha · Great is truth, and mighty above all things.
  7. Frédéric Bastiat · When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.
  8. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang · Never say "no" to adventures. Always say "yes", otherwise you'll lead a very dull life.
  9. Edward de Bono · Rightness is what matters in vertical thinking. Richness is what matters in lateral thinking.
  10. Electric Light Orchestra · 'It's a livin' thing.
It's a terrible thing to lose.
    It's a given thing.
What a terrible thing to lose.
  11. Ian Fleming · I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
  12. David Gilmour · Who are you and who am I
To say we know the reason why
Some are born, some men die,
    Beneath one infinite sky?
  13. Zane Grey · To bear up under loss — to fight the bitterness of defeat and the weakness of grief — to be victor over anger — to smile when tears are close — to resist evil men and base instincts — to hate hate and to love love — to go on when it would seem good to die — to seek ever after the glory and the dream — to look up with unquenchable faith in something evermore about to be — that is what any man can do, and so be great.
  14. Scarlett Johansson · I read a lot of things about myself that aren't true … I've read that I've been with people I've never met.
  15. Milla Jovovich · Martial arts is something I’ve always loved doing. It’s the only form of exercise that I can deal with. Everything else is really boring and mind-numbing.

  17. Akshay Kumar · Change cannot come from one politician, it has to come from each one of us and not just for today...it's a gradual process. Let's be responsible & work towards it.
  18. Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette · Liberty consists in the freedom to do everything which injures no one else; hence the exercise of the natural rights of each man has no limits except those which assure to the other members of the society the enjoyment of the same rights.
  19. Jack Monroe · Food poverty comes in two strands. The first is not having enough money to buy food for yourself and your family. The second is poverty of education.

  21. Perception · Truth is universal. Perception of truth is not.
  22. Randy Pausch · If I could only give three words of advice, they would be, "tell the truth." If I got three more words, I'd add: "All the time."
  23. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan · If there is a single goal for all civilization, it does not mean that all shall speak a common tongue or profess a common creed, or that all shall live under a single government, or all shall follow an unchanging pattern in customs and manners.
  24. Wilhelm Röntgen · I did not think; I investigated. … Having discovered the existence of a new kind of rays, I of course began to investigate what they would do. … We shall see what we shall see. We have the start now; the developments will follow in time.
  25. Oskar Schindler · I hated the brutality, the sadism, and the insanity of Nazism. I just couldn't stand by and see people destroyed. I did what I could, what I had to do, what my conscience told me I must do. That's all there is to it.

In a three-minute stretch between commercials, or in seven hundred words, it is impossible to present unfamiliar thoughts or surprising conclusions with the argument and evidence required to afford them credibility. Regurgitation of welcome pieties faces no such problem.

~ Noam Chomsky ~

The free man will ask neither what his country can do for him nor what he can do for his country. He will ask rather "What can I and my compatriots do through government" to help us discharge our individual responsibilities, to achieve our several goals and purposes, and above all, to protect our freedom? And he will accompany this question with another: How can we keep the government we create from becoming a Frankenstein that will destroy the very freedom we establish it to protect? Freedom is a rare and delicate plant. Our minds tell us, and history confirms, that the great threat to freedom is the concentration of power. Government is necessary to preserve our freedom, it is an instrument through which we can exercise our freedom; yet by concentrating power in political hands, it is also a threat to freedom. Even though the men who wield this power initially be of good will and even though they be not corrupted by the power they exercise, the power will both attract and form men of a different stamp.

~ Milton Friedman ~

I'm going to work hard not to have any wrong thoughts!
~ A child in The Children's Story ~

~ James Clavell ~

I ever seek to increase proper forms of respect for human individuals and legitimate forms of human society and social interactions. I do not seek to promote any of the worst and foulest forms of human confusion, ignorance and fear, nor promote any admiration for corruptions of the ideals of humanity which can come about through many forms of ignorance and confusion, such as those involved in various mild and minor or major and murderous forms of tyranny or terrorism.
I promote a forgiveness of those who fall into many forms of error, but I also assert that errors, especially those which ignore the principles of Justice and Liberty, should be opposed, and opposed regularly and vigorously. I am well aware that those with very limited and constrained forms of imagination, intelligence and ideas OFTEN wish to find ways to constrain or control the ideas of others, and to suppress, punish and destroy any indications of such ideas or truths as might go beyond the bounds which their fragile or fearful little minds find comfortable to face, usually without being too obvious about it, and with exaggerating focus on such regulations and policies "for the good" of everyone they choose to find worthy of consideration — which is usually a VERY limited circle, and such as can serve their own aims — often with an extreme ignorance, denial or dismissal of such principles upon which any truly legitimate "policies" must be founded. Even as a young child I recognized that so-called social interactions that depended upon various forms of dishonesty were not truly "social" at all — but actually, at best, "semi-social" and more often truly "anti-social", no matter what kindly generous appearances people might wish to garnish their own bigotries and extreme prejudices with.
I am genuinely not prone to be harsh to those not being deliberately harsh to others — and yet I am certainly not always prone to be gentle with those I perceive being needlessly harsh, intolerant or cruel to anyone. Even though I might forgive their ignorance and confusion, I will not always choose to pardon them from confrontations with aspects or consequences of their errors, that they might prefer not to face. I am a very complex person — and I respect others as such too — and I know that any mandated erasures or ignoring of all differences that might exist is certainly NOT a genuinely healthy answer to the problems of various forms of social and anti-social contentions. In this project and elsewhere I intend to help make many ideas of those I consider the most wise and charitable of human beings far better known and adequately understood by many — and indicate applicabilities which I believe can be helpful. This year has just begun, but I have many ideas of how to occupy my time in coming months, and am always prepared to adapt and grow with new circumstances, as any healthy individual usually is, and any healthy human endeavors always are. So it goes... ~ Kalki·· 12:19, 22 January 2014 (UTC) + tweaks

We shall not grow wiser before we learn that much that we have done was very foolish.

some images deleted from Baruch Spinoza

some of the images deleted from Baruch Spinoza, removed some months ago, some of which I might eventually restore, but have many other things to attend to today and in coming weeks. ~ Kalki·· 19:04, 13 January 2014 (UTC) + tweaks

Most of these which had been here have now been restored to the Spinoza page or to Ethics (book), which had been an overly large portion of the page, and had been moved some time after the images were removed. Some I simply replaced with other available images. Of the 2 images I have retained here, only the one with the Borges quote has not been restored, because there is currently not enough room for it in its section, and I believe other images currently there are generally preferable. ~ Kalki·· 11:42, 30 January 2014 (UTC) + tweaks

Actually there is sufficient room there, except in extremely wide page widths — but I will probably wait for more text in that section before possibly restoring it, or replacing it with another. ~ Kalki·· 11:46, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

some images deleted from Sri Chinmoy

These were removed from the Sri Chinmoy page, and knowing he apparently had some objections to gay lifestyles, I can agree to keep them removed, though I believe they illustrate some aspects of his statements well. In my philosophy everyone, including the poor, sick and aged, belongs to one familyGod’s Family.
Unless and until you have developed a heart inundated with compassion, do not sit on the seat of judgement.

Very early in my life, by the time I was 5 or 6, the Essays of Michel de Montaigne and various thoughts upon them had inspired me, and even then I had in mind ideas of creating short essays largely built around significant quotes and their various interpretations, and I will probably eventually begin filling many of user pages with quotes about various ideas and concepts, and a few relevant comments about them. The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.
Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.
The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life… There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.
~ Carl Sagan ~

Lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

    • When I was young
      I never needed anyone
And making love was just for fun
      Those days are gone
    • All by myself
Don't want to be all by myself anymore
    • Hard to be sure
      Sometimes I feel so insecure
And love so distant and obscure
      Remains the cure
