Initial suggestions
[edit source]@U3204500: Thanks for tackling this topic.
Some initial suggestions:
- There has been one previous chapter that may be of particular interest: Motivation and emotion/Book/2021/Torture motivation
- Note that this chapter can and should cover motivation and emotion. However, if you find that you want to focus more specifically on one or the other, let me know and we renegotiate the topic.
- There is increasingly good science suggesting that torture, whilst tempting, is not particularly effective at obtaining truth, and has other undesirable consequences. But what are the alternatives?
Let me know if I can do anything else as you go along.
Sincerely, James -- Jtneill - Talk - c 23:11, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

Social Contribution Suggestion
[edit source]Hey,
This topic looks so interesting and can't wait to see it developed!
I would suggest to include information and potentially display this in a table regarding the different types of torture (in the Historical Perspective section - I would also reconsider calling this 'historical' unless the same focus will be history as it seems to be mainly the different types at this stage) so that the quiz can be easily answered. Including some (non-distributing) images may also be necessary to display.
Adding wiki-hyperlinks in aswell to save you describing things (eg. Maslow's heirachy of needs) and save your word count for more information.
