Ingeniaria structuralis
Ingeniaria structuralis plerumque est pars ingeniariae civilis in qua ingeniarii structurales erudiuntur ut stabilitatem, vires, et rigiditatem structurarum aedificatarum intellegant, praedicant, et computent pro structuris aedificatis et non aedificatis,[1] ut designationes excogitent et cum designationibus aliorum designatorum misceant, atque ut constructionem propositorum in situ procurent.[2]
Ingeniarii structurales se etiam implicare possunt in designatione machinamentorum, armamenti medici, et vehiculorum ubi integritas structuralis functionem et salutem afficit. Ratio ingeniariae structuralis in adhibitis legibus physicis et scientia empirica actionis structuralis variarum materiarum et geometriarum condita est.
Inter usitatas ingeniariae civilis structuras sunt cuniculi, ferriviariae, canales aquarii (aquaeductus), lacus, moles, pontes, stationes electricitatis, transportatio per tubos, viae, viae aquariae.
