We will use Zoom video chat, the link is below. the wub will host.
A social gathering for Wikimedia/Wikipedia enthusiasts. You can expect to meet some very keen Wikimedians, and complete newbies are also welcome, as is anyone interested in finding out more about Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.
Note that we're using video conferencing, but there's no obligation to have your camera on if you prefer not to show your face. Or indeed your microphone: some people do just come along and listen in.
Although this meetup is a continuation of the regular "London" pub gatherings, going virtual means that geography is no longer a constraint so do feel free to join from anywhere you may be, in the UK or elsewhere!
Please invite any Wikimedia people you know (or have had wiki dealings with) who might be interested – spread the word!

[edit]- Hopefully pubs in England will be re-opening and meeting in-person will be possible again in July. Let's discuss what we want to plan for future meetups. It seems people definitely want to keep the virtual gatherings too, so maybe we could go back to having an in-person London meetup on the second Sunday of each month, and have a UK virtual meetup on the fourth Sunday. the wub "?!" 16:55, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- In case I don't make this event, I think having both in person and online events would be good idea (as we're getting to know lots of "non-Londoners" at the online events). One suggestion floated last year was to meet outside e.g. for a picnic if weather is good, which might be worth considering if people don't want to meet inside at a pub.
