Realisme

Realisme di dalam seni rupa bermakna usaha memaparkan subjek (rekaan semata-mata) dalam suatu karya bagaimana ia tampil dalam kehidupan seharian tanpa tambahan atau tafsiran tertentu. Ia juga boleh juga merujuk kepada usaha dalam seni rupa untuk melihat kebenaran bahkan tanpa menyembunyikan hal yang buruk sekalipun.

Pembahasan realisme dalam seni rupa boleh pula merujuk kepada gerakan kebudayaan yang bermula di Perancis pada pertengahan abad 19.
