Linking Fotodugnad to Commons
By Lars Jynge Alvik,In November 2016 Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage launched Fotodugnad platform for crowdsourcing location metadata for historic photographs (the platform is a new instance of Estonian platform Ajapaik.ee with the same purpose). At the GLAMwiki coordinators meeting in Paris in February Vahur Puik and Astrid Carlsen talked about the GLAM content mass upload to Wikimedia Commons from The National Archive done by Lars Jynge Alvik, and that images on Fotodugnad are already also on Wikimedia Commons. As a result Fotodugnad template was created on Wikimedia Commons and linked to ~1000 images that where already uploaded to Commons with the help of Riksbot from the National Archives of Norway. The bot also added geographical coordinates crowdsourced by users on Fotodugnad to the images on Commons.
