Great first results in State Regional Archives and Wikiresident Group coworking

The State Regional Archives in Prague

The cooperation between Wikimedia Czech Republic and State Regional Archives in Prague, which was announced in the Newsletter in April this year, has had its first results: a set of 85 photographs of important archival materials has been published here: Collections of the State Regional Archives in Prague. The files are gradually being added to the corresponding articles on Wikipedia. New articles have also been added to the Czech Wikipedia or existing articles about the Regional Archives and its eleven subordinate district archives have been updated. It is planned to publish another set of photographs of approximately the same quantity by the end of 2023. Workshops for archivists and Wikipedians are planned. You can also join the project by placing images in articles in your language version of Wikipedia.

Wikiresident Group established

In October, the first meeting of the Wikiresident Group was also held. Representatives of WMCZ, wikiresidents from Prague Zoo, National Library in Prague and Museum of Eastern Bohemia in Hradec Králové discussed technical issues, possibilities of editorial work and especially forms of further continuous cooperation of this coworking group. The aim is to create a functioning network for sharing specific experiences with the support and mentoring of the main co-director. The group will continue to meet roughly once a month in the online coworking space as well as consult on an ongoing basis as needed, in a shared online workspace.
