To elaborate: this is an SVG file (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:BirdRespiration.svg) which exists in two versions, and the 220px thumbnail shown on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird_anatomy persistently shows the older of the two.

I called https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/thumb.php?f=BirdRespiration.svg&w=220 followed by purging of the image page on Commons and the Wikipedia article, followed by clearing my browser's cache, but the problem persists.

I suspect (but am not sure) that this is the same as bug 44269

Still valid, and workaround https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f2/BirdRespiration.svg/220px-BirdRespiration.svg.png?whatever and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:BirdRespiration.svg?action=purge does not work.

CC'ing Ariel, Faidon and Aaron as this is a thumbnail purging issue.
Could any of you take a look at this?

When I purged the file description page on commons about 15 minutes ago, and then looked at the swift logs to see what has been purged, there is a long list of thumbs including

200px-BirdRespiration.svg.png
213px-BirdRespiration.svg.png
221px-BirdRespiration.svg.png
240px-BirdRespiration.svg.png

but 220px is not among them. All of them with a 204 result (so presumably successful).

The stats for the 220px file show:

I should clarify, that's the swift stats command for the specific file, run from an ms-fe host.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_Arms_of_Malo-les-Bains.svg looks fine to me, so either it fixed itself or I fail to see the problem.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Martin_Luther_Kirche,_Stretford_%281%29.JPG also shows the cropped version.

Hence I'm closing this as FIXED.
