Neil Leslie Diamond (Nova Iorque, 24 de janeiro de 1941) é um cantor e compositor, que compôs inúmeros hits nos anos 60, 70 e 80, e até hoje mantém uma multidão de fãs. Nasceu numa família judaica, em Brooklyn. Estudou com Barbra Streisand na escola secundária Abraham Lincoln e chegaram a cantar juntos no coro da escola. Aprendeu a tocar guitarra após receber um presente no seu aniversário de 16 anos. Diamond começou cedo sua carreira como compositor na Brill Building. O seu primeiro sucesso aconteceu em novembro de 1965, com a canção “Sunday and Me”, seguida de "I´m a Believer", "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You", "Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow)" e "Love to Love", gravado e lançado por The Monkees. Em 1973, compôs a trilha sonora do filme "Fernão Capelo Gaivota".

Frequentemente, Neil canta a história de sua vida, vivida essencialmente em Nova Iorque e Los Angeles. Alguns de seus êxitos: Sweet Caroline, Cracklin Rosie, Song Sung Blue, You Don't Bring Me Flowers, Play Me, Be, September Morning, Love on the Rocks, Hello Again, America, Heartlight, entre outros.

O primeiro casamento de Neil foi com sua professora, Jaye Posner, com quem teve duas filhas, Marjorie e Elyn. O segundo foi com Marcia, com quem teve mais dois filhos, Micha e Joshua. Neil e Marcia se divorciaram também.

Muitos de seus discos ganharam certificados de ouro e de platina. Recebeu diversos premios doGrammy ao longo de sua carreira. Atuou no filme The Jazz Singer, com Sir Lawrence Olivier, em 1980, e em Savins Silverman como ele mesmo. O seu CD mais recente foi lançado em 2008, intitulado Home Before Dark.

O cantor é citado, na Temporada 7 Episódio 3, The Scanvenger Vórtex, pelas personagens Amy e Howard na série The Big Bang Theory.

Em 22 de janeiro de 2018, anunciou que sofre da doença de Parkinson e que vai se retirar das digressões.[1]
