A piranha or piraña (/pᵻˈrɑːnʲə/, /pᵻˈrænʲə/, or /pᵻˈrɑːnə/; Portuguese: [piˈɾɐ̃ɲɐ], Spaingie: [piˈɾaɲa]) is a member o faimily Characidae[1] in order Characiformes, an omnivorous[2] freshwatter fish that inhabits Sooth American rivers. In Venezuela, thay are cried caribes. Thay are kent for thair sharp teeth an a voracious appetite for meat.
