John Michael "Johnny" Gaudreau (August 13, 1993 – August 29, 2024) was an American professional ice hockey left winger. He played a total of 11 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets. He was known by the nickname "Johnny Hockey".[2]
Death
[change | change source]On August 29, 2024, Gaudreau and his brother were both cycling on a rural road in Oldmans Township, New Jersey when they were hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver. They were in town for their sister Katie's wedding which was to take place the next day.[3]
