Macon is a city in central Georgia, USA. It is among the largest metropolitan areas in Georgia, and the county seat of Bibb County. It is near the center of Georgia, about 75 miles (129 km) south of Atlanta, that's why the city's called the Heart of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, Macon had a population of 157,346.[1] Macon is the fourth-largest city by population of the state.
