Roy Haynes

Roy Owen Haynes (March 13, 1925 – November 12, 2024) was an American jazz drummer.[1] He was one of the most popular drummers in jazz. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts. His career began in 1942. He played swing, bebop, jazz fusion and avant-garde jazz.[2]

Haynes died on November 12, 2024 in Long Island, New York at the age of 99.[3][4]
