గ్రంథాలయోధ్యమములో పాత్ర

డా: ఎస్.ఆర్.రంగనాథన్ మద్రాసులో 1927 వ సంవత్సరంలో జరిగిన 4 వ అఖిల భారత పౌర గ్రంథాలయ మహా సభ పూర్తయ్యాక మద్రాసు గ్రంథాలయ సంఘాన్ని స్థాపించేందుకు సహకరించమని అయ్యంకిని కోరితే మొరాయించాడు ఎస్.ఆర్.రంగనాథన్. ఎట్టికేలకి సహకరించి ఆ సంఘ కార్య దర్శిగా ఎన్నికై అనితర సామాన్య మైన కృషి చేశారు. ఆంధ్ర గ్రందాలయోధ్యమాన్ని గిరుంచి Five laws of Library Science అనే గ్రంధంలో ఎస్. ఆర్. అపహాస్యం చేస్తే రెండో ముద్రణలో ఆ వాఖ్యలను తొలగించే వరకు అయ్యంకి నిరసన పరంపర కొనసాగించాడు. 1962 వ వంవత్సరంలో ఎస్.ఆర్ గారిని హైదరాబాద్ లో సన్మానిస్తే ఒక కుమ్మరి కుండను తన చేత్తో కొట్టి ఒక మంచి ఆకారానికి తెచ్చినట్లు అయ్యంకి కొట్టిన దెబ్బలకు ఇంతవాణ్ణయ్యానని సవినయంగా కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపారు.
