Blackpink's Lisa Is Now The K-Pop Soloist With The Most Guinness World Records In History After Her 7th Win, And Fans Are So Proud

She beat out South Korean singer Psy after setting her sixth Guinness World Record.

Blackpink's Lisa just set her seventh Guinness World Record after the Guinness World Records (GWR) confirmed her debut single album Lalisa — released on Sept. 10, 2021 — is the first album by a solo K-pop artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.

@GWR
Born as Pranpriya Manoban in Bangkok, Thailand, the K-pop icon changed her name to Lalisa (which means "one who is praised") at the advice of a fortune teller when she didn't hear back after auditioning for YG Entertainment — Blackpink's record label and a talent agency. In Thailand, it's common to change your name to change your fortune.

According to Lisa, it worked. "The week after I changed my name, YG called me back and said, 'You should come [be a trainee],'" she told Billboard. "I was like, 'Wow!'"

This comes after the Thai artist became the fastest female solo K-pop artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify, marking her sixth Guinness World Record and making her the K-pop soloist with the most Guinness World Records in history — a title previously held by South Korean singer Psy, who currently holds five Guinness World Records.

@GWR
The 1 billion streams on Spotify came from her solo songs "Lalisa" and "Money," as well as "SG," in which she collaborated with DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion.

BTS' Jungkook holds the record for the fastest male solo K-pop artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Here are the other five Guinness World Record titles Lisa currently holds:

1. In September 2021, Lisa released her debut solo single "Lalisa" and dropped the music video on YouTube on the same day. Within 24 hours, the music video reached 73.6 million views. This earned Lisa the Guinness World Record for the most views of a new music video release from a solo artist in 24 hours on YouTube.

2. For "Lalisa," she also earned the Guinness World Record for the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo K-pop artist. The record was previously held by fellow Blackpink member Rosé for her single, "On the Ground."

3. In August 2022, Lisa won Best K-Pop Video for "Lalisa" at the MTV Video Music Awards, earning the Guinness World Record for the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Video Music Awards. While the category was introduced at the VMAs in 2019, it had only been won by BTS prior to Lisa.

4. A few months after winning at the VMAs in the US, Lisa won the Best K-Pop category at the MTV Europe Music Awards, setting the Guinness World Record for the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

5. As of March 2023, Lisa is the most-followed K-pop star on Instagram, earning her the Guinness World Record for the most followers on Instagram for a K-pop artist. When the GWR named her the record holder, she had 90.7 million followers on Instagram. Now, she has 93.3 million followers.

Needless to say, Blinks and Lillies — the name of Blackpink and Lisa fans, respectively — are so proud:

Imagine, just woke up in the morning and another 2 Guinness Records just added for our Queen Lisa greets me🥺. It's makes my heart melts and feels overwhelmed with the great big news💛💛.

Let’s talk about how Lisa already holds 7 Guinness World Records, which she achieved with HER OWN 2 songs. She’s undoubtedly above all the Kpop soloists and that’s the truth. pic.twitter.com/D76Jhwsyx6
