Colombo, August 14 (Daily Mirror) - The ‘Eksath Lanka Podujana Party’ candidate and former Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) chairman Janaka Ratnayake placed his deposit to contest the upcoming Presidential election.

We need to propose to the next govt to make it mandatory for every candidate to prepare a atleast 15 years (ideally 25 years) plan of action for each of the 20 ministries based on their policies and publish it as a supplementary in all the daily nespapers in all three languages, file a copy with the election commissioner before filing nominations. Then atleast we know the person has thought seriously about the country as a whole rather than a personal interest or a tiny part of the many problems we have as a nation.
