Chairperson of the SOSL Sharmini Wettimuny

Sampath Bank PLC was proud to present SOSL POPS, A Trilingual Extravanganza, in an exclusive performance for their  privileged customers. For the very first time a combination of Sinhala, Tamil and Western  popular music was performed by the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka , the foremost orchestra in the country and one of the oldest in South Asia, in a stunning performance conducted by Nishantha Warnakulasuriya,  ably supported by award-winning choirs Soul Sounds, Soul Sounds Academy Choir and the Soul Soul Sounds Academy Children's Choir, and with a mesmerising  guest appearance by the legendary  Chitral Somapala, amongst others.  The unique event was inspired by Sampath Bank's vision of bringing together music which showcases the country's cultural and generational diversity with the age-old traditions and powerful sounds of a full symphonic orchestra.  The challenge was taken up and brilliantly executed by the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka , leaving the privileged audience  emotionally moved, tapping their toes, singing along and proud to have experienced such a show.
