Good start. Farrell and Milioti were great. I also really liked Deirdre O’Connell. I had a bad feeling going in that the title character was gonna be more sidelined than the marketing indicated due to the time constraints of making a season led by an actor covered in so much makeup. So I was really impressed to see the premiere almost never left Farrell’s perspective.
On that note, Milioti was definitely a supporting performance in the premiere, despite the prediction center’s current categorization of her. I imagine she’ll get more scenes independent of Farrell as the show continues though. I hope so. If I’m being led to believe she’s a lead, then I hope to see a lead showcase, cause she’s quite excellent so far in a performance really unlike what I’ve previously seen of her.
