I myself am a very huge pikmin fan, before this games announcement I owned, played, and beat every game several times. And after 10 years of pikmin 3's release, Nintendo announced this game. And I was so excited that I replayed every game before 4 came out and bought the re-release versions of 1 and 2.
This game has awesome graphics, not better than pikmin 3 in my opinion but they still look awesome. The enemies look better than ever and the new ones even though they are very easy to beat look awesome as well.
And there are 2 new pikmin, and I love both of them so much. The ice pikmin can freeze the enemies, which is very helpful against enemies with very high HP. And the glow pikmin can only appear at night, a completely new feature which I think is alright. Sure the enemies are faster and stronger but the glow pikmin are very powerful so they kind of ruin it. But nonetheless the game is still perfect.
And like 3, Pikmin 4 focuses on a different captain from the rescue corps which you get to customize to your liking. And the main objective is basically the same as pikmin 3, just a tiny bit different. In pikmin 3, your trying to find olimar so you can get the cosmic drive key back and return to your home planet, but in 4. Your trying to save olimar because he sent out a distress signal from PNF-404 and your job is to save castaways who are stranded.
I love this game and anyone can play it, even if you haven't played the first 3 games you can still understand a big chunk of this game. But it's better to have played the first 3 games before you play Pikmin 4 so you can understand all the references.
