The film maker got his first movie camera when he was a 19 year old Marine in Vietnam. That was 1967. He went to San Francisco State University when he was discharged from the Marines and studied filmmaking. That was in the 1970's. In 2011 he self taught himself digital filmmaking by watching YouTube instructive videos. That included every aspect of the production process, from research, writing, lighting, sound, music, camera, editing,set design and distribution .
