President Igor Dodon is the political personality who enjoys the biggest trust among the respondents of a survey carried out by the Public Opinion Fund. He is trusted by 26% of those interviewed and is followed by the leader of the Action and Solidarity Party Maia Sandu, ex-Prime Minister, with almost 24%. The question about the most trusted political personalities was an open one and the respondents could name a personality themselves. The data were collected during November 23-30, 2019, IPN reports.
According to the poll, mayor general of Chisinau municipality Ion Ceban is trusted by 4.5% of those surveyed, while the leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) Andrei Năstase, who also ran in the mayoral elections in Chisinau, got a score of 2.8%.
The leader of the Democratic Party Pavel Filip, ex-Premier, was mentioned by 2.1% of those surveyed, while other politicians scored less than 1%. Almost 24% of those polled said they do not trust anyone.
The respondents were also asked about the common vote of the Socialist MPs and the Democratic MPs in favor of the Government led by Ion Chicu. 30.4% of those surveyed approve of this vote, 32.3% have a neutral position, while 30.1% disapprove of it.
Slightly over 34.2% of the respondents consider things in the country will change with the appointment of the Chicu Government on November 14. 31.6% said the situation would improve, while almost 20.9% said it would worsen. About 10% of those interviewed said they didn’t hear about the replacement of the Government.
The sociopolitical survey was commissioned by the portal Politics.md. It covered a sample of 1,201 persons, with the margin of sampling error being ± 2.8%.
