Rhee, as Zuma is known in football circles, was last registered with a PSL club when he was with SuperSport United in the 2013/14 season.

The 39-year-old enjoyed a successful football career, which has taken him to some of the big clubs locally and abroad. Zuma’s career started at African Wanderers in the 1990s.

He went on to play for Orlando Pirates, before securing an overseas move to FC Copenhagen in Denmark, where he enjoyed some of the best moments of his career and achieved success.

Arminia Bielefeld and FC Nordsjaelland are some of the overseas clubs that Zuma played for. The KZN-born played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Vasco da Gama, before ending his career with Matsatsantsa in the PSL.

“I knew one day I’d wake up in the morning and realise I’d had enough. I told SuperSport if I woke up one day and didn’t feel up for going to training, we can just cancel the contract. It was the motivation factor. It was very important my whole career that I wake up and want to go to training.

"You must do it with a smile and train hard. I woke up one morning and realised that it was enough for me. I love training and it was one of the reasons my career was a little bit longer. It’s also why Siyabonga Nomvethe is still playing,” said Zuma.

Zuma accumulated more than 60 Bafana Bafana caps, which marked a successful international career for the player that always showed professionalism and passion for the game.
