Notice of Service Interruption - InterLibrary Loans
For the duration of the Canada Post Strike, parcels and letter mail will not be accepted or delivered. As a result, Thunder Bay Public Library’s InterLibrary Loan services will be paused until the strike is resolved.
If you wish to submit any InterLibrary Loan requests, there will be a delay. Although our InterLibrary Loan forms remain open, requests to borrow items through InterLibrary Loan will not be processed until the Canada Post strike is resolved.
Thank you for your understanding.
How does it work?
If you cannot find what you are looking for in any of the TBPL library branches, we may be able to borrow it for you from other lending institutions in Canada through our Interlibrary Loan (ILLO) service. There is no charge for this service, and patrons should allow 2-6 weeks for materials to be shipped.
What can be borrowed?
You can make requests for the following items:
- books, select audiovisual items
- articles
- archival and genealogical microfilm online
Please note that books must be older than six months from publication date to be eligible for Interlibrary Loan services.
How can I request an item?
Follow the links above to fill out the ILLO form here on our website for the particular item you are looking for. Alternatively, you may also call (807) 345-8275 to make your request, or fill out a form at any Library location. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]
How do I return an Interlibrary Loan?
Books from Interlibrary Loan must be returned in person to a branch during open hours.
