Motivation

[edit]

Database of historical markers, we can add the ID number to the person, place or thing described in the marker. If we have an entry for the marker itself, add it there as a priority. In the future should we add entries for the markers themselves, migrate the ID to the marker from the person, place or thing described by the marker. Please feel free to modify my proposal. --RAN (talk) 23:29, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]
Is it possible that more than one markers about a building is described in the database? Then we should create items for all those individual markers.--GZWDer (talk) 08:20, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
When there is more than one sign at a site, they group them together in one entry, see this one. When we encounter two signs honoring the same person at different locations, we should split them into two entries, one for each marker. We have over 1,000 historical marker entries, mostly from a project in the Philippines. See for instance Ildefonso G. Tronqued Sr. historical marker (Q79973209). --RAN (talk) 17:46, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
