Motivation
[edit]TheTVDB currently already owns some properties (TheTVDB series ID (P4835), TheTVDB episode ID (P7043) and TheTVDB person ID (P7920)) but doesn't have the property for movies, which are managed by the site by dividing them into pages with the classification /movie/ within the URL.
It would be good to create a property for Person too but I think a second addition request should be inserted for this purpose, right? – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wiccio (talk • contribs) at 06:36, 27 October 2023 (UTC).
Striked, because the Person ID already exists. --Wiccio (talk) 10:33, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

- Notified participants of WikiProject Italy I try to ping my Italian friends! --Wiccio (talk) 10:33, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- Support, but please clarify how the numerical ID should be retrieved (since the IDs in the current examples' URL are alphabetical). --Horcrux (talk) 11:11, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- I think you are referring to the fact that there is no numeric attribute in the link. This is correct: the ID doesn't appear in the link. This must be retrieved in the first line of information on the film page, in the THETVDB.COM MOVIE ID field, as happens for the TV series on the same site. --Wiccio (talk) 17:04, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Wiccio: Ok, thanks, but for TV series we have a link like https://www.thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=79488, which directly contains the . In your example, instead, you wrote
[https://thetvdb.com/movies/valerian-and-the-city-of-a-thousand-planets 464]
. If the ID is464
, is there a way to generate a URL from it? --Horcrux (talk) 22:08, 18 November 2023 (UTC)- I wrote to TheTVDB staff and now I can reply: of course, @Horcrux! There isn't a
?tab=movie
parameter to use in the format you mentioned but the staff advised me to use the linkhttps://www.thetvdb.com/dereferrer/movie/'ID'
, so we'll havehttps://thetvdb.com/dereferrer/movie/1056
(try it!). [And actually the same standard should be adopted for TV series:https://www.thetvdb.com/dereferrer/series/79488
] --Wiccio (talk) 12:08, 23 November 2023 (UTC)- @Wiccio: Great, I've changed the examples accordingly. Thank you! --Horcrux (talk) 12:11, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
