- Comment Inverse properties are generally unnecessary here in Wikidata. Are you intending this as a true inverse, or simply for cases where a particular name is unusual as a given name, but more common as a family name? ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:54, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- What difference does that make? At the moment I don't see any possibility of referring to an identical given name. With this property there would be an easy possibility, especially in the field of personal names. --HarryNº2 (talk) 02:12, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
- Why do you need the link in that direction, if it already exists in the reverse direction? ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:44, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose per ArthurPSmith: we already have family name identical to this given name (P1533) which has as inverse relation given name identical to this family name (Q98796397), so therefore Sylvain (Q18001608) -> given name identical to this family name (Q98796397) -> Sylvain (Q16281827). This is just duplicate information --Hannes Röst (talk)
- Oppose Inverse properties are a waste of everyone's time. Rather, Wikibase needs to change to display this information automatically. NMaia (talk) 15:58, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

- Comment A possible use for this could be for wikis that want interwikis also to items for given names if no family name page exists in another wiki. I don't think its creation would generate much maintenance as these can be added automatically and shouldn't require any maintenance once added. --- Jura 19:32, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
