Begrundelse
Scientific meetings (conferences/workshops) has a group of researchers that determine which contributions (articles/abstracts/presentations/demos) that will be accepted to the meeting. This is usually called the program committee. For modeling scientific events a property catching this relationship is wanted. Alternatively one could establish a new item for the program committee and declare a person to be a member of that item. However then we would need another property to link scientific meeting Wikidata items to program committee Wikidata items. Alternatively, one could have the inverse property, on person item pages that directly links to the scientific meeting. Program commmitees might be from about 10 to over 1'000 members. — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 10:55, 28 April 2018 (UTC)

- Comment both properties have been supported and marked as ready but at a quick glance it is not clear to me whether the proposer and supporter want both properties to be created, or should we just pick one? − Pintoch (talk) 07:22, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

- @Pintoch, Jsamwrites, ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2: I would not mind having both properties created. At least for small events the above property would be useful. — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 11:43, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
- Given the concern for the inverse property, I think this property would be the best to create. — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 11:26, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
- Question What usages of this property are you thinking about, which can't be done using significant person (P3342) / board member (P3320) / member of (P463)? Deryck Chan (talk) 11:54, 2 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Deryck Chan: For member of (P463), we would need an item for the program committee of the event. One is not "member of" a scientific conference. Program committee membership is not the same as board membership. A program committee member is not necessarily a significant person for the event (just an associated person), cf. significant person (P3342), and if we would use that property we would need a qualifier. — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 11:23, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
- Neutral. I'm not convinced that we should have this property yet - unless an infobox is on the way, I would prefer to model this as member of (P463) + new item for person -> event; and significant person (P3342) + position held (P39) (or object of statement has role (P3831)) for event -> person. That said, "we could model it a more complicated way" - without offering to do it myself - isn't really an opposition rationale so I'm leaving this as neutral rather than oppose. - Support. Program committee members are not usual participants of a conference or other type of event; they take up to some extent a leadership role. This property clarifies this specific kind of involvement. Joalpe (talk) 01:24, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
- Comment creating this property in this direction given that it is more popular than the other direction − Pintoch (talk) 08:30, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
