Task/s: Adding Letterboxd Film ID (P6127) statements to items which already have a TMDB Film ID (P4947)

Function details: Letterboxd is a popular film review website which uses TMDB as its data source. You can navigate to the film page of a TMDB ID by URL, such as https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/496243 -> https://letterboxd.com/tmdb/496243. I have been creating Letterboxd lists from Wikidata and have been manually doing this redirect and adding the Letterboxd ID before creating the script above. I have so far added about 1k Letterboxd IDs, 80% using the script.

There are currently 212,505 TMDB IDs on Wikidata and 58,526 do not have a Letterboxd film ID. As such the bot will make these 58k edits, and then I will edit the script to run daily/weekly to ensure this doesn't become a problem again in the future.

Notes: My script only adds a statement where one does not currently exists and only when the film exists on Letterboxd. I haven't noticed any problems with the tagging of TMDB IDs on Wikidata. --Carlinmack (talk) 15:43, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
