Ernest Herbert Paul Schwerin (1919-2010) escaped the Holocaust in 1943. His father was arrested and Ernest went into hiding. He crossed into Switzerland on October 26, 1943 with forged papers and was placed in a refugee camp. He studied structural engineering at university in Switzerland. He migrated to the United States in 1947. He gave his Holocaust testimony to the USC Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education on December 11, 1996. He died in Fairfield County, Connecticut in 2010.
