I'm dubious this is Greg Henderson's own work. Picture is from 1951. Suppossing this picture was taken when the uploader was ten years old, he would be at least 83 years old. His userpage portrait does not suggest so. Bedivere (talk) 01:44, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - Changed license to this work is in the public domain in the United States because it was published in the United States between 1926 and 1977, inclusive, without a copyright notice. Photo depicts author Whitcomb and his wife from a 1951 photo. Greghenderson2006 9 September 2024 (UTC)
Can you provide proof where this was first published? Bedivere (talk) 13:49, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The image was never published. It is part of the Henderson Family Collection. It was taken in Carmel Valley, California at the wedding for Alexander D. Henderson and Patricia Ford on February 17, 1951. It is therefore in the public domain. Greg Henderson (talk) 14:39, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete. Commons is not a dumping ground for anything that's anything on the face of earth for which potential educational purpose can be brewed. One can take a picture of every single crayon in a huge pack of crayons separately and argue that picture of each color of crayon has possible educational use. Pictures of non-notable run of the mill ordinary people like the great majority of things you find on the Hendersonfamilytree site should not be hosted here. COM:WEBHOST is very much a relevant policy. Graywalls (talk) 10:36, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That reads: "Wikimedia Commons is not a place to store your vacation photo collection" They do not look like vacation photos, it looks like an image anyone interested in fashion would educate themselves with. This is a dated image of people dressed for their times. If you are uncertain if fashion is educational ask the dean of the w:Fashion Institute of Technology or any of the other members of the w:National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Costume designers for period movies study these images. --RAN (talk) 03:41, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It came from the Henderson Family Collection, basically Greg's family album. COM:PERSONAL is certainly relevant. So, you're right it's not a vacation photo, but still minimally important run of the mill family album. Graywalls (talk) 06:36, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
