I have posted tens of thousands of photos of remote, less visited and rare historic sites, archaic 2-D maps etc to Wikimedia, sister projects, and other academic / public domain archives. All of these are irrevocably in public domain, if they are not derivative works of other wikimedia files. You do not need my permission to use them anywhere, even for commercial purposes. If they are explicitly identified as derivative works in the notes or description, please check and respect the terms published in the identified original files.
