Image Tagging Image:Ford_Consul_Capri.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Ford_Consul_Capri.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-2.5}} to release it under the Creative Commons or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. [edit]Hi,
When making edits like this, please ensure no information is lost. In that case, that means ensuring the replacement category also contains the civil parish category (as I have done here).--Nilfanion (talk) 09:19, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
Share your experience and feedback as a Wikimedian in this global survey
[edit]Hello! The Wikimedia Foundation is asking for your feedback in a survey. We want to know how well we are supporting your work on and off wiki, and how we can change or improve things in the future. The opinions you share will directly affect the current and future work of the Wikimedia Foundation. You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.
You can find more information about this survey on the project page and see how your feedback helps the Wikimedia Foundation support editors like you. This survey is hosted by a third-party service and governed by this privacy statement (in English). Please visit our frequently asked questions page to find more information about this survey. If you need additional help, or if you wish to opt-out of future communications about this survey, send an email through the EmailUser feature to WMF Surveys to remove you from the list.
Thank you!
Reminder: Share your feedback in this Wikimedia survey
[edit]Every response for this survey can help the Wikimedia Foundation improve your experience on the Wikimedia projects. So far, we have heard from just 29% of Wikimedia contributors. The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes to be completed. Take the survey now.
If you have already taken the survey, we are sorry you've received this reminder. We have design the survey to make it impossible to identify which users have taken the survey, so we have to send reminders to everyone. If you wish to opt-out of the next reminder or any other survey, send an email through EmailUser feature to WMF Surveys. You can also send any questions you have to this user email. Unidentified locations
[edit]Please consider this. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 13:01, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
Undentified country
[edit]Regarding this and this edit: Location is still unidentified. Images are categorized by the operator of the buses, no need to add category of the home city of the operator – it is overcategorization. However, the photo was apparently not taken in Prostějov, nor even in Czechia. Probably, it was taken somewhere in the UK, according to the road marking, left-hand traffic and signs on the buses. --ŠJů (talk) 18:06, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
{{Duplicate}} contrary to all customs and common sense
[edit]Revision of File:DO-TALK-READ-WRITE.svg
Do you know what SVG is and why is it present here? How many SVGs did you tag as duplicates for raster images?
Please, don’t make me regret that I lobbied your autopatrolled status on Commons. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 09:57, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
Revierto ambas. Saludos. Jorge Barrios (talk) 23:48, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
You moved them into category M 030 that does not exist. I have put the photos into CategoryːMaipú, Mendoza. Malcolma (talk) 10:36, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Morten Andersen has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |

Requesting for help
[edit]I see that you have encyclopedic knowledges and you are working with uncategorised files. I am also systematically working with category:All media needing categories as of 2015. It would be nice if you help with these uncategorised files (out of Commons' scope can be also the option):

[edit]Thanks for your help nominating uncategorized files for deletion. Not sure if you use it already but you might want to try Visual File change, which lets you nominate multiple files uploaded by a user, using the Perform Batch Task option. Ajax Quick Delete and Quick Delete are also useful. You can find them under Gadgets under Preferences Gbawden (talk) 10:03, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
Hi. Please note in the policy that different file types are not duplicates. The policy is not trying to constrain the range or variations on an image, it is strictly looking exact duplicates. — billinghurst sDrewth 10:38, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
- Oops, missed that they were diferent file types. Malcolma (talk) 11:30, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Deletion nomination
[edit]This is K3G96, and was notified yesterday that this photo that I uploaded with the permission of Peggy Hall-Lofties was nominated for deletion, and I was wondering why is that? Thanks. 2600:1700:9575:D450:29ED:3D3A:C09A:4E4D 19:38, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- The description gives no information of why she is significant apart from being someone's daughter. The categories give no help.

Removal of categories from photo
[edit]Concerning this edit, was there any particular reason for this? I'm confused, because there was no explanation given for the edit, and there didn't seem to be anything inaccurate about them. 😕
TrollDecker (talk) 11:50, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- It's over categorisation. There is no need for them.
- Malcolma (talk) 11:53, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, okay, fair enough. 🙂

8 year old image
[edit]Hi. Unless it is bleeding obvious, I think that it is better to put eight year old images through DR consensus discussion rather than speedy deletion processes of one admin. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 13:40, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
cat fix
[edit]Hello! I've seen your edit Revision of 658745815. You're right, the category is wrong for this image. I've replaced it by a better category. It's always better to set a better category instead of only removing categories. --XRay 💬 09:48, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
Hi, Do not create invalid speedy deletions. Thanks, Yann (talk) 11:40, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
Please note that Category:Ichneumon is for one particular genus and is not synonymous with "Ichneumon Wasp" and should not be applied to the majority of "Ichneumon Wasp" images. These rather belong under Category:Ichneumonidae, where they can be properly identified by an expert. This file that you categorized under Ichneumon isn't even a member of the same subfamily. While it's good to tackle uncategorized images, it's important to make sure that they're properly identified to make sure that you're not accidentally perpetuating misinformation on a site viewed by millions if not billions of people. Category:Dalkeith House
[edit]The images you are placing in Category:Dalkeith House, located in Western Australia, should probably be in Category:Dalkeith Palace, don't you think? Calistemon (talk) 00:22, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
- Fixed once I had a bit of spare time. Calistemon (talk) 07:24, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, noted for any future uncategorized photos of the palace/house. Malcolma (talk) 11:47, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

- Because when I looked at them they were all blank files. They seem now somehow to have resurected themselves. Malcolma (talk) 09:51, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
