Hi, and welcome to the Commons. Could you please add place and country to your image descriptions? It's impossible to categorize them if we don't know what is depicted on the images. It would be even better if you search for relevant categories yourself and add those to your pictures when uploading, or if you serach for relevant gallery pages and add your pictures there. Thanks in advance. --AndreasPraefcke 16:10, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
I have placed this up for speedy deletion because book covers are copyrighted works and therefore fair use and therefore not allowed on the commons. You can upload it with a fair use tag to EN wikipedia. Thanks. gren 04:45, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hi. Book covers, since they are copyrighted (unless over 100 or so years old depending on country), cannot be uploaded to the commons. You can upload them to individual language wikipedias just not to the commons. You would use a tag like {{book cover}} (for English) or whatever they use for each individual language. Images uploaded to the commons must be under free licenses or in the public domain. Scanning a book cover doesn't negate its copyright even though it's your own scan. Is that what you wanted? gren 21:44, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
