Hallo Rfassbind, ergänzt du hier noch die Autoren- und Quellen-Angabe aller Bilder in dieser Kollage. --Túrelio (talk) 14:22, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wow that was quick, I just uploaded it. Of course I'll source the information, as I always do to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for checking and keep up the good work supervising uploads. Cheers, -- Rfassbind (talk) 14:33, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info. I usually amend files right after uploading, since that a bit easier to do. It normally takes just a minute or two, unless I get messages und my edits aren't saved due to edit-conflicts. I feel kind of stressed now. -- Rfassbind (talk) 14:48, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No idea why you are talking to me in english. Anyway, you still need add the correct license tag, as your initial one was plain invalid. --Túrelio (talk) 14:53, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Infelizmente, solo tengo doz manos y diez dedos.

Thanks, I know. I do source all my uploads with as much detailed information as I can. Sometimes it takes a day or so to gather the best info available. Cheers, -- Rfassbind (talk) 14:53, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that might o.k. if you are contributing to a Wikipedia article. However, when publishing images/graphics/works which are not completely your own work, as with the silicon collage above, a delay of more than a few minutes is not acceptable, as the upload/publishing under a specific license is a legal act. Per copyright law, authors have a right to be mentioned for their works. Also, I don't really understand the need for a delay of more than a few minutes. If you create a collage/compilation, you need to gather all the parts anyway before you can upload it. So, why don't you copy an empty description template to your word processor, enter all the required information and during upload just paste it into the description window. At least, that's the way I do. --Túrelio (talk) 15:05, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, understood. Thanks for your appreciation and I hope you'll understand that I won't go into a conversation with you right now, since that the main reason why I am delayed in the fist place. Bye now -- Rfassbind (talk) 15:14, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed a couple of errors in this and related files (such as the learning curve on the Swanson's Law Wikipedia page) pertaining to the values you use for 2014 and 2015. The big one is that you seem to be using the cell price from EnergyTrend, and not the module price -- the historical data you retrieved from Bloomberg uses module price, as do pretty much all historical price data sets I'm aware of. Thus, you have a mismatch in your data that make prices appear much lower than they really are and make it appear as though there have been tremendous price reductions the past couple of years (there haven't -- in fact, they've been rather steady for the past 18 months or so).

On a related note, the Bloomberg data represent annual averages, not just a single data point picked out on a particular day, and Bloomberg's price survey methodology is different from EnergyTrend's. Thus, by taking a single day's data from a different source you risk introducing additional error (and you are arguably posting original research). You can obtain professionally assembled learning curve data from multiple sources, including the ITRPV Roadmap, EPIA, SEIA, etc. Typically the ITRPV Roadmap is amongst the first to update with the previous year's data.--Squirmymcphee (talk) 08:43, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thx for your feedback. The chart File:Price history of silicon PV cells since 1977.svg is based on a secondary source using this image and it explicitly says "..price of crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells $/watt" and does not refer to module prices. Could you please provide the underlying Bloomberg data that shows that the author Geoffrey Carr: science editor, The Economist (or whoever prepared the graph on the www.economist.com website) has confused module with cell prices? That would be great. Also when mentioning alternative sources, please give me the name of the report, the URL to the document, and the page number where the data is given, in the same way as I have done for the chart you're scrutinizing. However, just to avoid any misunderstanding, I've never produced a log-log learning-curve chart that plots prices vs. cumulative PV production, so there is no point in providing me data for such. Cheers -- Rfassbind (talk) 11:46, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No but I have. :) This is the data that I used. I would be happy to change it if better data is available. But a log-log plot is so granular that 10% errors do not really even show up. It shows orders of magnitude of change, not small percentages. I think it is a good point though that it could be module prices, as that would explain why 2014 and 2015 are so far off of the curve, and would put them instead at around $0.59 and $0.53. Delphi234 (talk) 04:19, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

On the left is the data that was previously used. It was replaced with the data on the right, from ITRPV. There are three more data points than years, so I am not quite sure how to assign dates to the data. I have an older chart, from 1976 to 2009, done by Ken Zweibel, GWU, for module prices and shipments, with dates, and can try to correlate them. Delphi234 (talk) 02:51, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Map to update

[edit]

Dear Rfassbind,
Could you please update this map (File:IAU_National_Members.svg) that you created? Colombia has been accepted as the 74th national member of the IAU during the General Assembly that has just ended.
Best regards,
SenseiAC (talk) 09:07, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I updated the map and amended the description. Can you give me an URL about Colombia's ascension? I need a web citation otherwise I can't update the wiki article International Astronomical Union. Thx, Rfassbind -talk 03:53, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There has been a tweet the day it was approved, and it was actually confirmed during the closing ceremony of the general assembly, but I have not seen any official web document where it is indicated. It should appear on the official page of the IAU in the next few days. SenseiAC (talk) 19:26, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Great, I'll update the article and will add the needed citations later on. I guess it's still possible that other new National Members ascended. Thx for the feedback, Rfassbind -talk 20:09, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

@Asav: As stated on the talk page, the diagram File:Global energy potential perez 2009 en.svg, was tagged with a {{Copyvio}}, claiming copyright violations. I take issue, that I have not been notified on my talk page that a template claiming such violation was added, ignoring the instruction given by said template (i.e. "Please notify the uploader by adding the following to their talk page:{{subst:copyvionote|1=Template:Copyvio}} ~~~~"). Thanks for noticing, Rfassbind -talk 16:48, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stromgestehungskosten

[edit]

Viele Grüße, Andol (talk) 21:10, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled rights given

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you.. - FitIndia Talk Mail 11:35, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that your upload File:Global Market Share by PV Technology from 1990 to 2013.svg is used on quite a few pages on the English Wikipedia but it only has data until 2013. It'd be useful if this file could be updated with newer data. It seems that Fraunhofer is still producing reports on the subject. -- Veikk0.ma (talk) 23:46, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, more recent data is available. What do you suggest to do? Rfassbind -talk 16:13, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
