Please do not remove deletion requests
[edit]
Please do not remove deletion request tags from images before an administrator has closed the debate. If you do not agree that the image should be deleted, you can express your opinion on the deletion request page. You can find this page via a link in the deletion request tag or at Commons:Deletion requests. Thank you. Samulili (talk) 13:11, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for the advise. Actually the debate has ended for more than one month without any furthur discussion, so I think it's already ended. Sorry for the misunderstanding!--SElefant (talk) 16:08, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Notification about possible deletion
[edit]Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

File:JR ED79 Kaikyo at Aomori Station.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called SElefant. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name SElefant~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Permission to use your picture of train in book -- need signed release for publisher
[edit]I am working on a book for school teachers about engineering and nature, and would very much like to use an image of yours in the book, with due credit of course. Here's the image:
The book is to help school teachers build a connection between children and Nature in schools, through teaching subjects like math, science, and engineering. Any profits from the book are being donated to education charities.
Even though you kindly made the image Creative Commons, the publisher still requires I get a signed release for any images used in the book. Can I send the release form to you to sign?
My email is [email protected] (samstier at gmail dot com).
Many thanks for considering this request. Sam Stier
