Gursimran Singh Sidhu (born 11 July 1997) is an Indian singer, rapper, and record producer known for his contributions to Punjabi music and cinema. He gained widespread recognition for his unique style, blending rap, hip-hop, and traditional Punjabi sounds. Sidhu is best known for his hit songs such as "California Love", "Bamb Aagya", "Vaddi Galbaat", "8 Parche", "Gabhru", "Dekhi Jau", "Ashke Ashke", and "Taakre", among many others.

Early Life and Education
editGursimran Singh Sidhu was born on 11 July 1997 in the village of Chak Fateh Singh Wala, located in the Bathinda district of Punjab, India, to a Jat Sikh family. His father, Sukhbir Singh Sidhu, was also a Punjabi singer, which influenced Gursimran's early interest in music.[2]
Sidhu attended Mahindra Public School and graduated with a high school diploma in 2014. Following his graduation, he adopted the stage name Gur Sidhu, which later became widely recognized in the Punjabi music industry.
After completing his high school education, Sidhu moved to Brampton, Ontario, Canada, to pursue further studies as an international student. He enrolled at Sheridan College, where he continued his academic pursuits while also beginning to focus more on his musical career.
Career
editGursimran Singh Sidhu, known professionally as Sidhu, began his musical journey under the guidance of record executive Nav Sandhu. He was launched under the Brown Town Music label and released his debut track, "Moved On", on 8 May 2019. This song marked his first step into the Punjabi music scene and garnered attention for its smooth blend of contemporary beats with Punjabi influences. Sidhu's debut laid the foundation for his future success, setting him apart as an emerging artist in the rapidly evolving music industry.
Following his debut, Sidhu’s career quickly gained momentum. In September 2019, he released "8 Parche" [3], a collaboration with Baani Sandhu, under the White Hill Music label. The track became an instant hit, appreciated for its catchy chorus and youthful energy. Shortly after, in October 2019, Sidhu collaborated with Jassa Dhillon on the song "Pyar Bolda"[4], which further boosted his popularity. Both of these tracks showcased Sidhu’s ability to craft hits that resonated with young audiences and Punjabi music fans globally.
Sidhu’s breakthrough came with the release of his single "Bro Oye", which was also released under White Hill Music. Among the standout tracks were "Taakre", "Dekhi Jau", "Ashke Ashke", "Cherry Cheeks", "Dila Ve", and "Goli", all of which became fan favorites.
