- OK. The Deaths in 2006 has a reference to the other Andrew Barr but it can be referred to if an article is created. Capitalistroadster 18:56, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- It seems he may have been commonly known as Nicky Barr anyway. Capitalistroadster 19:18, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
This entry reads like it was written by one of Barr's staffers. Goldengulag (talk) 04:53, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Agree with Goldengulag that this page is written with a definate bias towards Barr probably by party supporters or office staff. Indeed some edits appear to have come from Dept of Education computers according to their IP addresses - the Toward 2020 school closures completely ignores the community anger over the issue focussing only on extra spending. Attempts to edit and add some neutrality of this section have always been overhauled - additionally the Towards 2020 section has been pushed to bottom of the page to minimise the controversy —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.129.50.151 (talk) 21:15, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
APPEARS TO BE PRO-ALP BIASED
edit- Above comment by 203.129.50.151 (talk) moved from article. - Gimboid13 (talk) 09:31, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
What specific part of this article is biased? If you feel the article protrays Barr or his party in a positive light is this sufficient to call it biased? For example, Barr is protrayed as an advocate of homosexual rights - that is not bias its just something he has stood for, he has also stood for restructuring the schools system - something alot of Canberrans hate - but thats not bias either. Please be specific when placing bias tags. If you can't identify the nature of bias then perhaps its not evident. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Godianus the Finder (talk • contribs) 11:33, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Personally speaking I admire the guy, but the article reads like the guy's campaign website rather than an attempt to neutrally and encyclopaedically describe him per Wikipedia's core policies. Orderinchaos 14:38, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
In response, the whole page over the last 2 years has been a blatant pro-ALP, pro-2020 school closure and pro-lets get Barr re-elected piece of dross. I had to laugh at the comment 'what part of this article is biased' - particulrly as it is followed by the implication that any criticism of Barr is deemeed as having a go at his homosexuality. Couldn't care if he is gay - just want him and the ALP to do their job - but they can't even run the schools, hopsitals or buses but we spend money on al grassby and GDE statues, give me a break. I note 3 months out from the ACT elections all the controversial stuff about Barr's 1st term has been stripped out - cleansed perhaps. Who took all this out anyway? Must be the ALP hacks in civic who created this piece of propaganda. Good riddance to bad rubbish I say - this guy wasn't even elected directly - he came 10th in a run off and closes a disproportionate number of schools in other electorates but rewards his alma mater with millions for performing arts - fuck off and get a real job I say and stop suckling on the public teat Alderman Barr.
Andrew Barr is the current ACT treasurer since July 2011. The article should be amended to reflect this fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.105.63.161 (talk) 07:28, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
