Why are we not supposed to update the streaming count?
editSpotify lists the figure for all to see. You don't even need an account. Why would we want to only show with what it was in 2017, using a source which itself just looked at the same Spotify figures?

- In principle, it's because Wikipedia relies primarily on reliable secondary sources — see WP:SECONDARY. An app like Spotify definitely doesn't qualify as a secondary source, and in fact I'm not at all sure where would fall under Wikipedia's approach to sources.
- However, I would recommend you ask the same question on the Talk page at WP:ALBUMS and see what the consensus is there. Popcornfud (talk) 18:47, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
