This page should not be deleted because bandboy is a specific job from the big band era that is very different from that of a roadie. A roadie, for example, is rarely considered a confidante; whereas a bandboy is. The etymology of the term should be expanded to its use in the military during the 1800s. It was a position for minors serving in the military who, in exchange for serving the band, were tutored to become full-fledged musicians. In some instances, it was considered a rank.
