Thanks,
Batarang Physics
editI'd really like for some weapons expert to discuss the plausibility of Batman's device. A boomerang's flight depends upon aerodynamics. A recently reprinted Batman story from the 1950s suggests that The writers who describe the batarangs must think that telepathy or magic is involved. Not only can the batarangs weave very complicated paths, but Batman uses a magnetic one to pick up some leaden counterfeiting plates and fly these back to him. The damn thing flies true and straight, despite a few hundred pounds of additional metal. At one point he bombs the bad guys using a batarang that has been "modified not to return." I think that a non-returning boomerang is just a missile, guys.
It's all in the realm of fantasy and beyond! WHPratt (talk) 16:36, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Incorrect info
editIn The Dark Knight, Batman doesn't further disfigure The Joker's face with the arm spikes. The projectiles just make him drop the detonator and distract him. There are no spikes stuck in him when he is hauled back up to Batman, and no fresh marks on his face. 166.248.36.59 (talk) 03:29, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
