editAnswer: their anecdote is taken from this article; scrolling down the article, they say "[Sources: wikipedia.org]". So, for the record, we are in the clear here. -- The Anome 15:41, 6 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Yes, the text is clearly yoinked from an earlier version of our article. Another website using Wikipedia as a source... and in a rather strange format. -- Infrogmation 15:58, 6 Jul 2004 (UTC)

linked dates
editPerhaps there is some reason for linking the dates of birth and death of unimportant people mentioned in passing? Actually, it would make more sense to eliminated their b and d dates altogether unless necessary for distinction or relevant to the article. Only a genealogist would need these dates and WP is NOt a genealogy.03:19, 12 April 2007 (UTC).
Article needs structure
editWhat a mess - a summary of all elections, with nothing about what he did in office, almost no sources, then batches of anecdotes and mentions of people he appointed. Let's at least organize it chronologically, so people can follow his life rather than jump back and forth. "Legacy" is supposed to be for serious items, not the kitchen sink. Setting up standard headers, including "Representation in other media" for movies, video games, etc.Parkwells (talk) 12:28, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Tapped?
editIf Wikipedia is intended as an encyclopaedia for whole-world reference, please explain the American use of the term ‘tapped’, in its political sense. Gosh darn it, we don’t want Americans to be accused of being insular, hey? Jus’ sayin’. --2001:44B8:3102:BB00:D05B:64D4:F495:6544 (talk) 09:17, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
