One paragraph in intro states Bowie moved to Texas to become a Mexican citizen in “1830” while later down it contradicts this timeline. Nor sources or citation of Mexican citizenship. Inside this page it says “In June 1819, he joined the Long Expedition, an effort to liberate Texas from Spanish rule.” According to the Texas State Historical Association it says that the Long Expedition wasn’t to liberate Texas from Spain, more like trying to take over Texas and make it part of the U.S.A.
