Lock the page after the details of his son's engagement are cleaned up.
editWe should probably lock this page. His son proposed to Jenna Bush, and there will be plenty of stupid political edits over the next week or two.
- Nah, we won't lock - but I did watchlist it. -- Y not? 19:39, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Proposed task list
edit- Review and clean up career at American Tobacco. Not just a govt relations guy. Early jobs, SVP, XVP. Why mention Duke family?
- Review and organize public service career.
- Hunt down citations where required.
- (DONE) Start an awards section. See Who's Who for a a beginning list.
- Add honorary degrees. Who's Who list some I think must be honorary, but does not identify them as such.
- (DONE) Add wheelchair racing.
- (BEGUN) Add memberships. Who's Who has a good start.
- Delete Bohemian Grove claim. It looks dubious; the web sources do not look reliable. Perhaps it arises from the piece discussing a different (journalist) John Hager in the same piece as the Bohemian Grove: Ethics cases online » Workplace issues.
- Much of the material already in the article can be attributed to Who's Who, RPV bio, US DEd bio, or Purdue bio already cited. It just requires a little drudgery to map it correctly.
- This Google query seems to bring up more than I can handle now:

(Btw, personal observation is that Mr Hager drives himself around the state, alone in a large sedan. He does not accept help getting the wheelchair out of the back seat; he handles all that solo.) --AndersW (talk) 06:17, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
How did this guy get polio?
editThe article says, "Hager contracted polio when his son was vaccinated for the disease with live virus vaccine in 1973." If you go to the source reference (a Purdue U. magazine), it says: "But when his infant son was inoculated against polio with the live-virus Sabin vaccine in August 1973, Hager contracted the disease from the vaccine and nearly died."
I'm certainly not an immunologist, but how is any of this possible? How did Hager get in contact with the vaccine? How did it get inside him? And how can you catch a disease from a vaccine that wasn't given to you in the first place? Something's missing here... 12.11.149.5 (talk) 17:34, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
