Even DANFS, picky about commissionings, mentions no "commissioned" status and thus the USS is misapplied. In any case this is another Maryland state police boat that maintained augmented patrols of its normal area as a Reserve force under agreement between the state and Navy. The state maintained the boats and they maintained state enforcement while taking on additional patrol as Naval Reserve and Navy reimbursed the state for operations and maintenance during the period.
