Not all of the Game & Watch games are black and white, but the monochromatic aspect of Mr. Game & Watch (except when he uses the Metal Cap) is indeed an allusion to the earliest Game & Watch games. Nidorino 07:23, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

The way I see it, Mr. Game & Watch should just be reffered to the character in SSBM, not anything else. This article should probably be about the SSBM character, and G&W games should go in the Game & Watch article. And the cartoons... uh, I had no idea Mr.Game & Watch ever appeared in a cartoon, plus I'll bet he wasn't even reffered to as Mr. Game & Watch back then. Same here about him being created in SSBM. He made later appearances in Game & Watch Gallery 4 and cameos in games like WarioWare: Twisted! And the Game & Watch series is not a series of games. It's more of a generation of games, like NES games or SNES games. He's an amalgamation of Game & Watch characters that looked alike (Ball protagonist, Parachute protagonist) and others that didn't (Greenhouse protagonist, Flagman protagonist). I've tried to tidy things up a bit, but as for the cartoon, the name of the creator in a google search returns this page and no else. After wiki'ing the voice actors, I came across Peter Cullen, who apparently did voice acting in something called "Saturday Supercade," which featured other Nintendo characters, perhaps this cartoon was part of that? Possibly, although G&W sort of went through a "rise and fall" sort of thing; like he pretty much disappeared in the gaming world after other consoles came out, and then he reappeared in SSBM. I don't think I ever reffered to the G&W guys as Nintendo characters, although they pretty much are.

Here's what we should do, maybe: start off with some stuff about the old G&W games, then a section on SSBM, and then a small section on the cartoon; un-tag the article and un-stub it.. and life is good. --gakon⁵ (talk)

Could we possibly, please, add in a slight note in the SSBM section on how the heck you play this guy? Not a strategy guide or anything, just a couple lines on his strengths and weaknesses like was done with the Link article. To Do List

Here's what I think the article's layout should look like:

• For the beginning, a part about G&W and the G&W character, and how he was given that name,
• then a section on his character in SSBM, as well as his B button moves possibly,
• then a small section on the cartoon he was in, minus the episode listing and credits. Tho we need a little more intel on this subject possibly.

Just my thoughts on how we might go about cleaning up this article. BTW I'ma remove that list of credits, and maybe the episode listing, as it just seems out of place. --gakon⁵ (talk)

It has not been officially confirmed that G&W will not be in SSBB. It is likely that rumor was false. Please do not put up any speculation like that in the future.

Sausage or Bacon?

Age?

I think Mr. Game & Watch is a year older than Mario (though Mario's age is pretty much unkown), since "Jumpman" was created a year after Mr. Game & Watch. In the actual article, would it be cool to say that he's around Mario's age for this reason? Fourange 18:18, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Brawl status

Check out those little icons on the Brawl website for each update. Each corresponds to the icons in the game. Melee had 14 franchise icons, Ice Climbers are icon 14, Animal Crossing is 15, and there's one last icon spot open before 14, it being 13. This suggests to me that Game and Watch is returning, his being the last Melee franchise to need to return; however, it is obviously not solid enough for Wikipedia to go about saying "MR. GAME AND WATCH IS CONFIRMED GUYS". However, would this be notable enough to mention on the article, while still making it clear that this is not 100% confirmation? Ah, but don't you see, it doesn't need a citation "since effective use of him against a skilled opponent often requires complex mind games." Merge with Game & Watch

I believe that this article needs to be merged with the Game & Watch article. There is already a section about the character on this page, but it should be expanded using some more information from this article, as well as other information that anyone else might know of. The SSB data is not appropriate other than the mention that the character is part of the game and that he was first seen in that game (if that is indeed the case).

I believe that once these edits are complete, the page should be converted to a redirect, not deleted, so that others may more easily find this information. — OranL (talk) 09:15, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
